It Begins

Every year, the same thing happens again: classes start!

This year, at least, Dorm4.com is back with a vengenance and we hope you’re back to visit often. There’s still a lot to do around here, but we’re hoping you’ll stick around comment a lot, join in the discussion on the forum, visit the calendar, and browse some of the photos. Much more is coming soon… as well as some better ways to keep up with it all. Hope you’re having fun and enjoying it all!

So I just noticed, but the largest picture on the latest summer update thing has a picture of four guys all staring up into the sky and they superimposed a flying saucer in the sky. You may notice those four people are, Jon Clark, Jimmy, Cahill, and Me. Pretty sweet. We hit the big time.

Happy Independence Day!

Yup, it’s that time of year again! The sun is hot, the grills are lit, the fireworks are being prepared, and the cheesy clip arts are out:

If you’ve had your fill of BBQ, apple cobbler, and fireworks, then Wikipedia has some great articles on other country’s independence days.

P.S. In other news, I’m working on finding some new software for the forums. I thought I had something, but I’m having second thoughts. I don’t want a bunch of discussion to get started and then I convert it to something else and have to worry about bringing all the posts. Thanks for bearing with me.

Welcome!

Welcome to the new site. There’s some fun things here, but the real goodies are in the forums. I trust you’ll be signing up for an account ASAP. Right?

I’ll be adding new features and content as time allows. That is, when I’m not doing my real job. Let me know if you see anything interesting I should add.

Things to do this summer

Posted at June 29th, 2006 by Eliot Landrum - No Comments

Not quite sure what to do this summer? Lots of people seem to have ideas. Just take a look on Google if you don’t believe me.

My favorite thing is to check up on NPR’s summer reading list. There is always at least one book that takes the cake.

Not into books? This summer looks pretty interesting in the movie relm, too.  Yahoo! has the hook-up for a great summer movie guide. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing Superman in 3-D IMAX.

And, of course, there’s always the classic American road trip! Be sure to check up on some D4 residents and alum around the country. Free food and beds are always a plus!
